Origins

The curious thing about the mid-Atlantic is that unlike the vast Pacific Ocean, you don't find the sprinkles of little exotic islands where everyone really wants to go on holiday. You just find a big stormy, wet ocean. So explaining you're from, i.e. somewhere between Seattle, Glasgow, Manchester, Dublin, can never really be done by picking somewhere in the middle. You just have to say mid-Atlantic
